Today was one of the best days on this holiday! Since my sister had gotten here it made it a little more interesting for me because i had someone else to talk to. I’m sick of talking to my parents, they’re annoying! lol.

Anyway.. Saturday was great, we got up at 7:30ish got ready and waited outside for a shuttle bus to pick us up at 9. The shuttle took us to the train station. Mum had paid about $400 to do  the scenic Skytrain and Skyrail journey up to a small town called Kurandra and back again.

At about 9:40 [the train was late] we left the station assigned to train car 11. The train talked, which i found amusing. It was teaching us about the history of Cairns and the Skytrain and Skyrail. DID YOU KNOW that 32 people died while constructing it back in the 1870′s [how boring, this over and over again] But it was so scenic and nice. It took about 1 hr and 45 minutes and it was really nice. We got to look over Barron Gorge and Falls and stuff! I got plenty of footage of it to show you all.

Kuranda was a nice, hippy town but it was small and kinda boring. My sister [who i found out is afraid of heights] really didnt like this journey.

After we were done with the town we went to the Skyrail Station, its like a “Cable Car” sorta thing, where you hop into an alluminum tube [very basic description] which is hooked to a cable and then it takes you over the Canopy of the Rainforest and Gorge and River, back down the few mountaints… IT WAS AMAZING! again, i got plenty of footage from it.

Ok onto Sunday

Today was a nice day too. We were supposed to go on a snorkeling trip out to Green Island [about a 45 minute boat ride] but the seas were too rough, so instead we went back up to Palm Cove, which was really nice. I got some footage of it too. But the strangest things happened there, quite a few people just starred at me, mostly they were males, aged about 14 to 16ish… Odd… After Palm Cover we just chilled back at the appartment and went around town looking for a nice place to eat lunch.

At 5:20ish we had to go to the airport because then was when my sister had to head back to sydney because she has TAFE on monday morning.

Onto Monday [today]

I liked today, it was nice and relaxing. I am yet to go in the pool [i shall at about 6:30ish, after the simpsons lol]

Today dad went to some “Fish Farm” because he was desperate to catch a Barramundi, he’s been trying to ever since we got here, but failing. So he decided to cheat and go catch them in a farm.

I didnt want to go [dont really like fishing] so i decided to stay with mum. She took me shopping, well sorta. She took me to a mall and got me some expensive shorts. Then we went off and did our own thing for an hour. So i bought myself new jeans and a new pencilcase

Today being my last day here in Cairns [fly tomorrow home] I shall see you all when i get home i guess…

I got up early and was realllly hungry! so i ate breakfast then watched family guy.

Then my parents decided to go on a drive to the “Beach” well actually it wasnt a beach it was more of an extremely low tide thingo where there was Mexican Walking Fish everywhere. But we walked to this nice Pier place and reserved a place for dinner tomorrow night [cause tonight we're going to some greek resteraunt]

Then we dropped Dad off to go on some fishing tour of the Estuary [cant spell]

So mum and I went to the Shopping Center, had some lunch and looked around seperately.. I decided i’d make it a little more fun for myself, so i went into random shops and pretended to be someone else for example: I went into a random shop [it was a clothes store] and pretended to be a German Backpacker who got lost from his group and was looking for them in the shopping centre… it was sooo funnny!!!

Yea well that was my “interesting day”

Tomorrow I am going up to the top of some mountain on a Train and then down on some Skyrail thing which should be funish.. But ill get some good photos and video of it to show u all..

So i’ve left port douglas and im now in in Cairns. Its still wet and muggy and humit and stuff unfortunetately… They say its been the wettest week in 3 months! that’d be right, when i go on a holiday it becomes fuckin wet as!… Oh well.

On the drive back from Port Douglas we stopped into Palm Cove and Yorkey’s Knop [lol, immature i know] and it would have been great if it wasnt raining. So we headed away from there and came down to Cairns like we were supposed to. Eventually  we found our appartmenty place, it is kinda nice, but I’d prefer the place we stayed in, in Port Douglas because it was like 2 seperate appartments, I had my own and mum and dad had theirs. But im stuck with it, so i’ll manage i guess.

I think Cairns is probably a little [a lot!!!] more interesting then Port Douglas, why? Well Cairns has more things really… Just more things.

My sister flys up tomorrow for the weekend, which is gonna be ‘fun’…

Mum wants to book some skyrail and scenic rail trip up to Kurandra or some place which i think will be nice.

She also wants to book a day trip to “green island” which is 45 minutes by boat and do some snorkeling… I’m not too big on snorkling [which is a story in itself] or boats… But still it might be fun.

While all this was goin on, dad was fishing at the marina, he didnt get anything exept a few bites so he wasnt to happy about that. For lunch we went out and got some Thai Take away and then went to the crappy beach which has sand as black as the ace of spades which was gross so i didnt go in… Also there was a sign saying “stingers” so i didnt go in and just went in the pool instead.

They say the pool is a “Lap” pool… which it is to an extent. But it’s only 1 lane long so only 1 person can swim laps in it at the one time.

Today is my last day here in Port Douglas, tomorrow we do the 1 hr, windy drive back to Cairns… It was the most windyest rode ive ever been on, a motion sickness sufferers worst nightmare…

At the moment mum and dad are looking for a place to eat dinner, hogs breath was a choice but they are having second thoughts about it… I dont mind really, any place nice i am fine with.

Yea… so this is it for todays blog post.. I shall chat in the next one, which hopefully is tomorrow..

Getting off the plane was like a massive kick in the face… It was sooooooooo hot and steamy compared to Sydney.. I was dressed in Jeans and a Jacket and i could barely breathe! Baggage claim was easy, only 1 carousel. Then we got our Rent-a-car and the ppl there thought they would be nice and give us an upgrade to the car we ordered [we ordered a Toyota Carola like what mum has] but they gave us a Toyota Camry Sedan which proves to be a huge inconvenience when parking under the place we’re staying. But its fine, the car is big and comfy so im happy. We got to our place starving as hell and i needed to go to the toilet soo bad… We got there, i did what i had to do and went out to look around Port Douglas [oh yea, we drove to port douglas after we got the car.]

by the time we ate ‘lunch’ it was 5 so we didnt end up having dinner.

DAY 2

So today started well i got up about 9ish and had breakfast. Which is generally a good thing… Then we [mum and dad and i] got ourselves ready and got in the car. We drove about 20 minutes north to a town called Mossman and then a little further into the Rainforest to a place called “Mossman Gorge” which was really nice [got some good footage of it on the camera] and we walked the tracks and it was sooooo humid!

Then we went to the Daintree rainforest and it was pretty much the same… But we went to one of those Pubs which was full bogan pubs like the one in the simpsons where the guy says “Thats not a knife this is a knife” and then he says “well i see you’ve played knifey spoony before” lol

so thats my day

ill probably be in tomorrow talking about more of my days and stuff.. cya later
